I found a bug already.

I noticed that when I opened a previous post that was stored on the local disk, the categories were not populated. Because I updated this post using that method, the category got wiped out. I manually reset the category and updated with Windows Live Writer again.

If I opened the post from the website rather local disk, the category was fine.

I checked the file on the local disk and the category exists in the file, but Windows Live Writer doesn't read it.

Does this happen only when opening posts created with an older version of Writer?

Interesting- ok we'll log that. I just tried it using our latest build from source and I'm not reproing it (I just tried against Spaces, Wordpress, and Typepad). Either we've already fixed it in our main branch or its community server specific (or I tested wrong ).

Just checked. It is only when Beta 2 reads a Beta 1 post from disk. I created a Beta 2 post, saved the draft, bounced the app and it read the category fine.
