Phone Vs Petrol Station

Category: Rory Primrose @ 06:52

We've all heard it countless times before about the dangers of mobile phones and petrol stations. Some of us have even heard the rebuttal arguments against the danger. Do we need to set the record straight?

This is my favourite part of Karl's article:

But the electric field from a mobile phone has never been known to set off a fire in a petrol station. And consider that in the UK, some 200 Shell petrol stations have mobile phone towers in the tall petrol price indicators, which stand right there on the forecourt, a few metres from the petrol pumps. The towers put out a lot more grunt than your small mobile phone.

Unfortunately, like any hoax (email or otherwise), I don't see this one dying especially because mobile and petroleum manufacturers maintain the warnings.
