I will start to look at PIMP (from WinAmp) as an installer for these applications. The Windows Installer is great, but the install files are too large and to get the results I want would be like learning another programming language and I don' t want to pay for an install builder.
PIMP seems to be a good trade-off for flexibility and price (I mean hey, you can't beat free right!).
It may take a little while to get the PIMP installer to agree with me, but I may be able to ditch the Windows Installer packages in the not too distant future.
Thanks to CutTheRedWire for letting me know about PIMP.
