Trigger 2.6 is born.

Trigger is your desktop and wallpaper manager that has just come out with major changes. Check out these details.

Trigger 2.6 has a completely new skinning engine (including skinnable scrollbar) and a new SDK for all those skinners out there. Plastic has produced the goods again with his plated skin that comes as the default skin in this latest version of Trigger. According to user permissions, custom fonts can now also be installed as a skin is loaded (allows for skinners to break through that next barrier). The tooltip system for Trigger has be revised to include tracking tooltips (tooltips that follow the mouse, better results with rectangular tooltips instead of balloon tooltips). Last but not least, a cool splash screen and about box have been added and updated.

Microsoft MDAC 2.5 and Visual Basic 6 runtimes are required to install and run Sticky. If MDAC 2.5 is not installed, or to find out which version of MDAC is installed, visit http://www.microsoft.com/data. Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows XP come with MDAC 2.5 by default.

Transparency is currently only available on Windows 2000 operating systems.

Velocity Art Skin Contest

Velocity Art is having a skinning contest. The rules are simple. Just try to make a unique but well designed, usuable skin for Switch. The one that looks the best, is the easiest to use, and just has that certain something will be the winner. In other words the one liked best. The dead line is April 3, so that's about two weeks for you.

For this run, the prize will be getting Featured Skin. If this goes well, we'll have more contests and the prize may not just be Featured Skin.

Tribal for Switch

A new skin has just hit the net - Tribal for Switch, created by Nikkie.

This is a must have, get it now from the Skins section of the site.

New Trigger version

Trigger will be coming out with a new version in the next week or two. Just a heads up for anyone interested in skinning Trigger, the next Trigger version will be coming out with a new skinning engine that will not be compatible with the previous version.

Check out the new Trigger SDK [Now removed] and stay tuned for the release of the new version. The SDK will give you an idea of how the skinning engine is going to look.

Back later.
